Default UK Turbo 2000, tuning to 300bhp?

What routes are available to take a UK Turbo 2000 [MY00 Classic] to about 300 bhp?

What costs are involved? Can the brakes take it? Will the standard clutch **** itself?

I've tried the search function but most people seem to be starting from an STi rather a standard uk model!

Cheers in advance!

I have had my MY99 remapped on V-Power by Bob Rawle. He squeezed 281bhp and 312 lb/ft out of it. The only other mods are a KN panel filter and a Magnex middle de cat and back box. Anymore without spending on a new turbo would be impossible. The Ecutek remap is a very cost effective way of gaining decent power/torque increases on these cars. Make sure you choose a good mapper and he will look after you. I am also running on the original standard clutch...at the moment!

For that sort of power your going to need a tdo4 hybrid guys

I have one for sale

Then you will need...

255 fuel pump
De cat down pipe
And a remap

(your car already has 440 injectors)

I think you could do it all for £1000

For abit more power and faster spool add...

Ported headers
Ported up pipe
De cat center pipe
Back box

I'm running 280bhp with...

K&N IK
FMIC
Full Hayward & Scott exhaust system with no cats.
ECUTEK remap

But as said the turbo runs out of puff.

Looking to get a new turbo and 255 fuel pump and then get it mapped again for over 300bhp soon.

see "my Scooby" for specs of my old MY99 UK.

Got it to 309BHP but on reflection I wouldn't have changed the turbo intake hose.

Easy way is:
VF28 £150 or any other turbo from an STI (so long as it is front entry) e.g. VF24/28/29/34/35
Decat
Remap
Fuel Pump
3 port boost solenoid

Should be able to do that lot for £1000 without the exhaust

That should see you to 300bhp

Brakes will be fine but maybe upgrade the pads to some Ferodo DS2500, clutch should be okay at that power level if there is life in it.

Is that with a remap? and is it power at the wheels or fly?

See my profile

If you just want 300bhp, substitute VF35 with TD04 hybrid. And if you don't intend to track the car, stick with the std intercooler and then you also don't need the induction kit.
