Default 2006 STI speaker options?

Hi All,

The standard speaker set up in a 2006 STI is pants!
The front ones not to difficult to change, any addapters required? speaker size?
The rear ones are no good in the doors just behind the front seats, anyone fitted any others in a different place?

Yeah mine is a hawkeye, is yours?
I have noticed on mine there is metal cut-outs in the rear shely, might be able to get something in here?

The front ones should be easy, addaptor plate and speakers.
The rear door ones are the issue. its there postion. The sound is blocked by the seats etc. Always best to have speakers inline of sight.

The company that fitted mine recommended that the front speakers should be the main focus as the sound will come from the front of the car.

Since I've had the Fo-Cal speakers fitted I've found a huge difference. My next step is a sub-woofer and 4 x channel amp.

(I've got an 06STi - so assume the speakers are the same as in the WRX)

What model Fo-cal speakers did you buy for the front? Are they a straight swap?
What sort of money are we talking for a pair?
Cheers

Believe it or not vauxhall corsa speaker adaptors are the ones you need. to fit aftermarket door speakers.
