My Hawkeye WRX

My Hawkeye WRX
Hi all,
Following on from my welcome thread:
https://www.scoobynet.com/scoobynet-...ing-hello.html!
I thought I'd start a thread in here to show the new car and progress as I go along.
Here was the Pistonheads advert where I originally seen the car a couple of weeks ago : http://www.pistonheads.com/classifie...o-2006/1092792
So I flew to Bristol yesterday morning to collect the car. It looked good in the pics but I was pretty blown away when we arrived at the guys house and he showed me it sitting in his double garage. It's immaculate, not a mark or stone chip on it that I could find :w00t:
He explained he'd owned it for 4 years and in that time had only put 4.5K on it and it had never even been out in the rain!! Crazy! It shows though, really is pristene It's got 33k, FSSH and it's standard bar a Prodrive back box, Hayward and Scott centre section, Prodrive springs, Prodrive spoiler and the Inovit Redline wheels on brand new T1-R's
A couple of pics the guy sent me last week
So I left Yeovil with the car for the long drive home, but stopping into Scott @ ScoobySpares in Fleetwood first to collect this lovely SpecD full interior and a mint set of STI Brembo's with discs and new pads (no pics of the brakes yet, will do tomorrow)!
So I took the morning off work and got set on with swapping the interior, here's a few more pics
BEFORE
AFTER
They're great seats, really pleased with them and very straight forward to fit them and the doorcards.
Managed one quick pic of the car before I had to head to work but will add more in the days/weeks to come as I do more to it.
These to go on next
New stoppers :
I assume they're a pretty straight forward fit? Do people tend to use the stone guards from the STI too or ditch them?
Cheers!

Cheers for the replies.
So a little update.
Got the new wheels fitted, they're 18" Rota GRA which are a band on replica of the lovely £600 a wheel Prodrive Forged CG10
I'll be getting them refurbed in a high power silver powdercoat though as they need refurbed anyway and I want to get away from the gold/blue theme.

Also got a chance to fit the front STI Brembo GT's, rears will be done next week.

Cheers for the comments
UPDATE:
My 24mm rear and 22mm front bars and droplink kit arrived last week for my Hawkeye from the CDF Racing group buy.
Everything looks excellent quality and the bars really look like they will hold up to the crap roads and weather we get here in the UK.
For the price I got it all in the group buy I have to say it really was a bargain.
So decided at 7:45pm yesterday that I'd go fit the rear ARB and droplinks, not leaving much time given it gets dark about 9pm here and I was doing it outside but was happy to finish it tomorrow if I couldn't tonight.
First thing I noticed is how puny the standard RARB really is compared to the CDF.
I need not have worried, took me a hour with putting the tools away, dead simple
The only things to mention and the one thing that had me puzzled for a while was that there's more washers than you need on each bolt, I couldn't work out where to put them all when it dawned on me that in fact you don't need them all and the diagram snows you where you do need them so don't worry when you're left with a few spare big washers
I also had to very slightly enlarge the space in the bracket that the bottom of the drop links fit into as they were too tight to get in so to get the bolt hole lined up.
Anyway, out for a quick blast and you notice it immediately, even on the middle setting. Turn in is much more precise and on long fast sweeping bends the car is so much more planted than with the standard RARB but be warned if you don't have good tyres, this will only exaggerate that and could very easily land you in trouble if it's damp. Get some good rubber on and a good geo setup is my advice.
Cant wait to get the front fitted tomorrow, hoping it will be as simple but I suspect not, we will see.
UPDATE 2
On another note I got the wheels refurbed today and to say I'm pleased is an understatement lol
I'm also overjoyed to get my Eagle F1 Assy 2's back on, the cheapo tyres that the wheels came with were not doing the car any favours.
Still need to sort the center caps as they're gold ATM with the black Rota badge, have a nice set of Prodrive badges to put on them once they're painted, this will complete my fake (oops lol) Prodrive CG10 (£600 a pop if you can find them!!) wheels until I can afford/find a real set lol
Got them done at Chameleon Metal Coatings ( www.chameleonmetalcoatings.co.uk ) who have recently moved to Lloyd Street IND Estate in Rutherglen.
I've used them for years and their service is always top class, they were £180 on a same day service and the finish is a flawless titanium powdercoat (slightly lighter than Anthracite) which apparently I have a bit of a fetish for as I had two sets of wheels done the same on my previous Focus ST3.
I've had daft quotes for refurbs locally and always come back to Chameleon, while their range of colours is not the biggest the finish is always been top class for me and they're a right friendly bunch of guys too.
All comments welcome and thanks again.

Cracking looking WRX
I did the same as you with my Hawk WRX too, has Spec C seats in it too and I love them!
Customised the Brembos a bit though :P
Are you fitting the rear Brembos too? They bolt right in but you'll need to get extended handbrake shoes to fit the rear Sti discs.
Good to read the difference the ARB makes, thats next on my list of mods, plus new shocks as I have the dreaded knock...

Cheers mate
Yeah had leather in my previous 3 cars and couldnt go back I don't think, really smartens it up inside too.
Also fitted a Pioneer F940BT as the standard stereo was dire, I missed the handsfree bluetooth and Nav, great unit and "free" map updates available
Love the brakes mate, look wicked! Mine were pretty mint tho so couldn't justify getting them refurbed, I do need to get stainless bleed nipples tho, that reminded me thanks!
I have the rears with shoes and everything ready to go on, just need to find the time as been so busy with work and what time I've had off the weather's been shocking lol
thanks again.

Another very small but very worthwhile mod was the wheel centre caps.
Originally gold with a Rota badge on them so removed the Rota badge and cleaned then rubbed down:
Then a few coats of satin black Plastikote:
And finally custom Prodrive badges applied and fitted to the car... with the black tuner nuts I think it finishes them off nicely and to be honest very very close to the Prodrive CG10-E which is exactly what I was trying to achieve

Thanks for the reply I am from Glasgow but now live in Greenock, I have Prodrive GT1s from a WRX S and never been happy with them and want my Work Emotions back on. Thought about leather in mine but as i have owned mine from new and trim is mint so a leather re fit would need to come from a good un. I would love a GB270 trim but like hens teeth. Would love fed back also on the ARBs
Hi mate, the ARB's are fantastic, great quality and really transform the handling, well worthwhile mod and if you ever fancy a shot of mine you're very welcome to try it with them on. I've had an issue with the droplinks, well the bushes but CDF are sorting it out for me.
Little Update
So the car's now running 285bhp & 357lb/ft torque and with the bits added and the remap, really pleased with the performance now, it feels like it should have done out of the factory if you ask me.
The front and rear ARB's and uprated droplinks it's seriously improved what was already excellent handling. Need to get it in for a full fast road alignment ASAP to make the most of it.
Also fitted a nice HT Auto's V-ltd splitter a couple of days ago.
Took the chance while the weather was half decent this evening and gave the car a well deserved wash and took a few quick pics on the SLR.
What a difference a proper wash makes, really need to get the rotary on it though and give it a good once over to rid the swirls it's accumulated
Thanks again.
